Why Pensuasion?
Social-justice causes need persuasive advocates. To communicate more effectively on the issues that impassion them, people and organizations need to
- Identify the audiences they want to reach—and why,
- Decide where and how to find those audiences, and
- Craft the messages that will best persuade their audiences, whether towards a change of mind, a change of heart, or a course of action.
Pensuasion exists to help small nonprofits, activist groups and individuals, and academic researchers create or improve their communications on any of several different levels:
- Developing a focused communication strategy,
- Refining the tactics—the best words and images—to get their information and arguments across clearly and strongly, and
- Presentation of the message in formats and forms that best persuade the people they want to persuade.
Pensuasion’s clients differ in their nature, their needs, their goals or causes, and their geographic locations. Our services vary accordingly, and might range all the way from consulting on an organization’s communication strategy, down to fine-tuning the wording in a speech, tweaking a slide presentation, or alerting clients to cultural differences affecting reception of their message. Whatever the level of services needed, Pensuasion emphasizes
- Promoting social justice,
- Keeping the audience always in mind,
- Using a participatory approach when working with groups and organizations, and
- Remaining sensitive to matters concerning many different types of diversity.
